A vintage movie poster of ''The Maltese Falcon'', a 1931 American pre-Code crime film directed by Roy Del Ruth. The film is the first adaptation of Dashiell Hammett's iconic detective novel of the same name and is known for its contribution to the film noir genre.

Plot:
The film follows the story of detective Sam Spade, played by Ricardo Cortez, who is hired by a mysterious woman named Ruth Wonderly, portrayed by Bebe Daniels. Wonderly claims to be in search of her missing sister and provides Spade with a lead. However, as Spade investigates further, he discovers that the case involves much more than a missing person.

Spade becomes entangled in a web of deceit, murder, and intrigue as he encounters various shady characters, including Joel Cairo, played by Otto Matieson, and the enigmatic Kasper Gutman, portrayed by Dudley Digges. The central object of desire is a valuable statuette, the Maltese Falcon, which is coveted by all parties involved.
